I designed a Facebook cover image for the NCIA’s (National Cannabis Industry Association) Facebook page by incorporating their tagline of “Advocacy, Education, and Community” and reversing it out in bold blocks of color from their established branding colors of yellow, orange and light green.  I had established this block design style of their tagline in 2016 for their annual Cannabis Business Summit™ and Expo.   #CannaBizSummit

Create a 1 page information sheet for the “QCC” Event Series.  Illustrate the 8 regions by using a simple map info graphic with map markers.  Create a call-out section along the bottom to draw attention to the highlights of attending these events. Here’s the creative direction and graphic design for the pinot noir wine labels which follow the same design principles for the chardonnay that was previously created.
All wines have a corresponding wine technical sheet that describes the promise of the wine along with retail price and specifications. The section of  “points” is placed high and in a prominent section of the design to bring attention to the excellent reviews from the reputable sources of Wine & Spirits Magazine and Burghound online.

I chose to design all the wine labels for Mignanelli Winery with the dominant use of the Mignanelli logo to create an instantly recognizable brand within the confines of the 4 x 3.25 label space. The use of Gotham fonts compliments the hand-rendered, calligraphy logo creating a combines traditional and modern look which would appeal to a wide range of buyers. A chartreuse green signifies that this is a chardonnay (white) wine.

For the second annual Cannabis Business Summit™ & Expo I kept the design simple, open, modern and consistent across all supporting design materials.

The concept of the pre-conference brochure was to use negative space in relation to the title of the event. Images and call-outs were secondary.

The circle design and type lockup translated to the expo floor design.

Male Iguana: How Naughty?

Here’s an example of a Venn Diagram showing the three main aspects of a male iguana behavior: Being vegetarian, being “in season”, and the frequent head bobbing. Each specific behaviour is represented by each large, colored circle. The overlapping sections create more distinct behaviours and where all 3 intersect is why the male iguana is well, so naughty.  The smaller, outer circles indicate the interactive behaviors with the human female (“handler”, “mommy”, “human”) and their behavioural result.
